Great day yesterday. I accomplished a lot, first of all. Did a lot of laundry and cleaning, for almost the entire morning! If I just start early, things go well and I have motivation. Go figure.
Also, a friend and former co-worker Traci Okawa, came to visit Oyama. She wanted to hang out and go to Karaoke at Maneki-neko. At first I truly did not want to go - I'm so shy about so many things, and singing is one of them! Sing in front of others?? The horror! In fact, I didn't want to deal with any people at all - which included going out into the world in order to buy groceries. (This happens often, actually - it's like dealing with so many people at school just wears me down, though I'm doing much better than when I first started teaching. So, to make myself not sound like a crazy person, I must add that it's not specifically Karaoke that is stressful or anything - it was just the last straw in this case.)
So anyway, my wonderful hubby gave me a massage and a pep talk when my emotions spontaneously combusted, resulting in me deciding to just lay down and do nothing. I hadn't hung out with Traci in so long, since she moved to Gunma, and she wanted to go to Karaoke. Once all the stress I was harboring left, Karaoke sounded like a great idea!
Thus followed 3 hours of Karaoke bliss with Traci, Sandy, Keilani, and Dani!
