The trains can be such a pain sometimes ... Well, technically, that was the weather....
My family hoped to come to Oyama to see us yesterday, but it took them 4 hours to get from Narita to Shinjuku (it should have taken 1 1/2 hours) because the train had to keep stopping due to really high wind speeds. If they'd gone ahead and come the rest of the way, they'd have had just enough time to get right back on the train to head back to their hotel. When I went to the station to wait for them for a while, I did see that the trains were all backed up.

Many things have not gone as planned this past week. And it hasn't been quite the Spring Break I was hoping for. I got to see my family though. And after the insane wind, followed by a downpour of rain, the sun shone bright yesterday evening.
The rain yesterday left today rather cold, but it was still beautiful! We met my family in Tokyo and went to Harajuku for Shakey's pizza (even more delicious than usual, with everyone so cursedly hungry!). Then we went to see the Meiji Shrine.

There are more pictures on Facebook. And here's to hoping I'll have a "Part 2" with my family before they have to head back to the States!
