| note the expression on the right fish |
The 3rd-year teachers sitting next to me at Ooya Higashi Elementary passed out some snacks amongst themselves, and then put some of these on my desk. They proceeded to explain that these are dried fish while I just stared at the wrapper wondering why the random it reads "kisu ga suki!?" ("Would you like a kiss?!")
This was only minutes before I left school, so I put them in my bag and promptly forgot about them.
Drew found them sitting on the counter, where I'd put them at some point, about an hour ago. Reminded of their existence, I started vaguely wondering about that "kisu ga suki!?" again.
Then it hit me--
These things make your breath smell HORRIBLE!! Not a soul is going to want to kiss someone who just ate one of these. Way worse than garlic!
So, not only did the Japanese get in some word-play that they adore ( flipping キス "kisu" to make スキ "suki"), but they were also just being funny. And I love it!
... Though I don't think I'll eat these .... ^.^'
hahaha, that is great! (I wouldn't eat them either...)
