Karaoke February 11th

We went to karaoke again, and it's possible it was my last karaoke box trip. ): Hopefully I'll go one more time! We usually go to a karaoke establishment (box) called Maneki-neko, as it's the cheapest we've found. The deal we always go with allows us to rent a room for 100 yen for the first hour, and 200 yen for each hour after that, so long as we buy something off their menu that's 300 yen or more. I almost always get a Coca-Cola float.

 As with everything in Japan, the Maneki-neko Karaoke boxes have a mascot. Isn't he cute? I wish I could keep one of the cups they bring our sodas in. Those have him on them, front and back. Want!

Along with the cheapness of the place comes a very strong smell a cigarette smoke unfortunately. This last time it wasn't too bad though - I think we went early enough in the day that the room hadn't been used much yet. Quite the bonus, considering what we're used to!

By the way, it's strawberry season, and there were tons of tasty-looking strawberry things on the menu. I'm quite proud of myself for not ordering ANY of them. They were very pretty though....

I'm getting braver in singing (with people I know well, that is). The me that first arrived in Japan wouldn't feel this way, but the current me is going to very much miss karaoke boxes!!
